Prepare your visit Located in the village of Malèves, in the municipality of Perwez, the Musée du Souvenir 40-45 is a private museum dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of the Second World War. Created by passionate collectors and historians, the museum houses thousands of authentic artefacts, including uniforms, weapons, equipment, documents, photographs and military vehicles. One of its most distinctive features is a series of life-size dioramas featuring nearly one hundred mannequins, recreating scenes from the war and bringing history vividly to life. The museum places particular emphasis on the events that took place in the region during the German invasion of May 1940, the Occupation, the Resistance and the Liberation of Belgium in 1944. Visitors can discover the stories of Belgian, French, British and American soldiers, as well as the experiences of local civilians who lived through the conflict.
